When my 80 year old dad was thinking of selling our family home I asked him to consider selling off market or privately.  Being a Canadian real estate investor,  I was familiar with the process and obviously I wanted to help him with all the ‘heavy lifting’.  With very little help my 80  year old dad who immigrated to Canada in the late 70’s without knowing a word of English was able  sell his home privately, or as he puts it “do the deal” and was able to pocket an extra $50,000.
